LENTEN MESSAGE FOR THE YEAR 2021
A leper came to him [and kneeling down] begged him and said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him, “I do will it, Be Made Clean.” 42 The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.(Mark 1:40-42)

Brethren, the Holy Season of Lent is here again with us. In this season, the Church calls her children to a 40-days journey of spiritual renewal through penance and reconciliation, that comes to its highpoint at the Easter Vigil with the renewal of our baptismal vows. This season draws our attention to the central event in our salvation history; the salvific journey of Jesus to the cross of Calvary, which becomes vivid as we participate in the weekly Stations of the Cross.

REJOICE IN THE LORD
- Pastoral Letter of Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark

Lent is the season for healing
Lent is the time of year when the Church encourages us to do a thorough examination of our spiritual health, and then to take whatever steps are necessary to let the healing power of Jesus make us whole again. The six and a half weeks of Lent provide a structure for diagnosing the symptoms, and the root causes, of our sinfulness.

4 REASONS FOR FASTING
Why do we fast? Fr. Mike explains that it’s not about getting more love and attention from God. Fasting is about self-mastery, discernment, sacrifice, and being a co-redeemer with Jesus. In this video, Fr. Mike dives deeper into these four reasons, helping you make the most of your fasting this Lent.
